Operating systems

The following platforms are supported:

  • RedHat

  • CentOS 7.x.

  • ALT Linux 8.4 SP

Java

JDK 8 or later is required (compatible with OpenJDK and Oracle JDK).

Databases

ADPS requires MySQL 5.6 or later.

The database server can be installed on the same host as Ranger. When you use different hosts for the database server and Ranger, then Ranger service must have access to the database server. It’s recommended to allocate enough disk space for the Ranger service database.

Logs requirements

Apache Ranger uses Apache Solr to store and index logs. Apache Solr nodes can be installed on the same hosts as Apache Ranger components.

NOTE
Ensure that enough resources are allocated for Solr instances. For example, a cluster of 10 nodes consisting of about 15-20 components can generate 1 GB of audit logs in one day.

Ranger Admin

Minimum RAM required for operation — 1.5 GB.
