Cluster creation

In ADCM a cluster means a set of services running on a set of hosts.

Clusters distributions for ADCM are made in the form of so-called bundles. Generally a bundle is a regular archive that includes a description and software logic of cluster deployment and exploitation.

The steps for adding a cluster to ADCM are listed below.

NOTE
If you use the Enterprise Edition, please, skip the step 1, get a bundle from the Arenadata support team, and move to the step 2.

Step 1. Downloading a cluster bundle

  1. Go to the website of the Arenadata Streaming product and click Download.

  2. The opened page displays a brief description of the product, links to its distribution components, and information about the last release: release date, release type, minor version, and links to the Usage License and Release Notes. Choose the versions of ADS and operation system in the corresponding fields and expand the Arenadata Streaming Platform drop-down list. The bundle of ADS Cluster is called Bundle for ADCM.

Step 3. Creating a cluster, based on the uploaded bundle

IMPORTANT
When creating a cluster via the ADCM web interface, you generate a new ADCM cluster instance. It means only adding the cluster to ADCM — at this stage no services are deployed.

The steps for cluster creation are given below:

  1. Open the CLUSTERS tab and click Create cluster.

    adcm cluster add 01
    Switching to cluster creation
  2. In the opened dialog, describe a new cluster instance:

    • Select the uploaded cluster bundle in the Bundle field.

    • Select the desired bundle version in the Version field. Several versions become available in the case of different versions of the same bundle being uploaded. By default, the latest version is displayed.

    • Enter the cluster name in the Cluster name field.

    • Enter the cluster description in the Description field, if necessary.

    • Click Create.
