UI overview

Below you can find the overview of the features contained in the ADCM UI.

Login window

This is the first window that you see when you start your ADCM session. In order to access ADCM, you are prompted to enter your credentials (login and password) in the corresponding fields. After you entered your credentials, click Login.

Main window

This is the window that you see right after logging in to ADCM. The main window contains three basic subsections:

  • Common lists and concepts. This subsection is located in the left part of the screen.

  • Tabs set. This subsection is located in the upper middle part of the screen.

  • Main menu. This subsection is located in the upper right part of the screen.

Common lists and concepts

Intro

This page contains basic information on various ADCM entities and is shown by default. You can see this page at the main window screenshot above.

Settings

This page contains global configuration settings. You can find the detailed description of this page in the Configure section.

Users

This page contains user list. You can view existing users and delete them via Delete. You can add new users via Add new user.

You can adjust the amount of users to show via the Items per page selector located at the bottom of the user list. Users are listed along with some of their attributes. Those attributes are listed in the table below.

User attributes
Attribute Description

Username

Name of the user. This column can be sorted alphabetically

Email

User email. This column can be sorted alphabetically

Groups

Groups the user belongs to

Type

User type. This column is sortable

Reset login attempts

Resets failed login attempts for the user. You have to be ADCM administrator to do this

Groups

This page contains group list. You can view existing groups and delete them via Delete. You can add new groups via Add new group.

Name of the group. This column can be sorted alphabetically

Roles

This page contains role list. You can view existing roles and delete them via Delete. You can add new roles via Add new role.

This page contains policy list. You can view existing policies and delete them via Delete. You can add new policies via Add new policy.

CLUSTERS

This tab contains cluster list. You can view existing clusters, configure them, and run various cluster actions (including remove). You can create a new cluster via Create cluster.

Name

Name of the cluster. This column can be sorted alphabetically

Bundle

Bundle that was used to create the cluster. This column can be sorted alphabetically

Description

Description of the cluster

State

Current state of the cluster. This column can be sorted alphabetically

Status

Current status of the cluster. Exclamation mark means there are some issues. This column is sortable

HOSTPROVIDERS

This tab contains hostproviders list. You can view hostproviders, configure them, and run various hostprovider actions (including remove). You can create a new hostprovider via Create provider.

HOSTS

This tab contains hosts list. You can view hosts, configure them, and run various host actions (including remove and switching to maintenance mode). You can create a new host via Create host.

Attribute Description

FQDN

Fully qualified domain name of the host. This column can be sorted alphabetically

Provider

Hostprovider that is associated with the host. This column can be sorted alphabetically

Cluster

Cluster the host is running on. This column can be sorted alphabetically

State

Current state of the host. This column can be sorted alphabetically

Status

Current status of the host. Exclamation mark means there are some issues. This column is sortable

Opens host configuration menu

Maintenance mode

Switches host to maintenance mode and back

Delete

Removes host from from ADCM

JOBS

This page is, in fact, the same Jobs window that opens when the jobs indicator (the bell icon) of the main menu is clicked. Jobs window is described in detail in its own section further down on the page.

BUNDLES

This tab contains bundle list. You can view uploaded bundles and remove them. You can upload a new bundle via Upload bundles.

Edition of the bundle (community, developer, or enterprise)

Bundle signature status. One of: Valid, Invalid, Absent

Delete

Removes bundle from ADCM

You can find additional information on ADCM bundles at the page that describes the bundle object.

This menu is located in the right top corner of the main window. It consists of three icons:

  • Bell icon. Opens Jobs window. The icon is surrounded by a colored circle that shows ratio of succeeded and failed jobs.

  • Help icon. Opens help menu.

  • Account icon. Opens account menu.

Jobs window, help menu, and account menu are described in detail below.

Jobs window

This window opens after choosing the jobs indicator (the bell icon) in the main menu. You can view the list of all jobs that have ever been started in your ADCM. You can filter the jobs according to their statuses via the All, In progress, Success, and Failed buttons located above the job list at the right part of screen. You can download all job logs via the download icon located next to the job status.

Job attributes
Attribute Description

Number

Sequential number of the job. The first started job is 1, the second job is 2, and so on

Action name

Name of the action that was performed during the job

Objects

ADCM objects that participated in the job

Start date

Date and time the job was started

Finish date

Date and time the job was finished

Status

Status of the job. One of: In progress, Success, Failed

Help menu

This menu opens after choosing the help icon in the main menu. You can see two options:

  • Ask for help. This is the link to join ADCM support chat in Telegram.

  • Documentation. This is the link to ADCM documentation.

Account menu

This menu opens after choosing the account icon in the main menu. Account menu consists of three menu items:

  • Settings. Opens the Global settings page described above.

  • Profile. Opens the Profile window that is described below.

  • Logout. Ends your current ADCM session and opens the Login window described above.

The Profile window allows you to change your password. Enter your new password twice and click Save to save it.

ADCM object details window

This window opens when you select an ADCM object (cluster, hostprovider, host, or bundle) from a list at one of the tabs of the Tabs set. You can see the details of that object. For brevity, we choose bundle as an example of ADCM object, so its details can be seen at Bundle details window.

At the left side of the Bundle details window there is a menu subsection that consists of two items:

  • Main. Opens a page that contains information on some parameters of the selected bundle and their values.

  • License. Opens a page that contains information on the license required for the selected bundle.
